Colors of the Galaxy is a groovy soundtrack to your life. Every song delivers a soaring chorus, sweet vocal tones, and subtle but intricate programming. If I had my own television show as a 20-something professional making her way in the world, I would have this on my iPod as I walked to work every day in the big city (insert city here).

took a drive the other night...was excited to hear the new electron love theory cd (i've been a fan since i discovered them a few years ago)...late night...full moon...i got to my destination...i didn't remember the miles i had just driven...the music got me there...i stayed in my car when i arrived...i was lost in the music...i sat and waited for the music to end...i turned around...hit play...it carried me home again.

Like author Milan Kundera, Electron Love Theory's Colors of the Galaxy tackles darkness from inside the light. The melodies are light and seductive but the lyrics are dark and spiraling - a pleasing and impressive contrast once you give yourself over to the juxtaposition. Several of these tunes have ear-worm potential and I've caught myself seeking them out on the ipod to scratch that music-phrase-on-the-brain itch. -- heather krause, author |
