| Biography: UNSIGNED MUSIC MAGAZINE’S pick for VIDEO OF THE YEAR, ellee ven has managed to get popular support from the music community with her super single “ Under My Skin” and the PROJECT 11 super series heard around the world. The PROJECT 11 series also introduced singles “Vacillation”, “Spiraling” and “Underneath My Pillow” with remixes by DJ Solange, Chris Brophy & DJ Scotty Boy. Honing in on her own genre she calls “groovetonics”, ellee ven’s do-it-yourself approach has worked out well for this Los Angeles based artist.
ellee ven’s most recent success came with the release of her CD/Vinyl series titled PROJECT 11. “DJs control the play list&they like a variety of music and so do their listeners. Think about Jay Z releasing a single with Linkin Park, or Tim McGraw and Nelly. It’s about great songs, great creative energies collaborating to make something unique”. ellee ven’s remix compilations have solidified her commitment to DJs for their constant support of her music. ellee ven goes on to say, “Thanks to DJs, my music is spinning internationally. They appreciate the power of melody and the ability for songs to translate well in different genres and languages. DJ Swamp really helped me explore the electronic dance world and it just comes down to what sounds good. ” ellee ven, born Jessica Lazaro Kunin, changed her name, and changed her life. “I’m Spanish, Greek, Russian, German and Italian. It made sense for me to create something all my own since I could no longer cling to any one part of my heritage. The plan has just been to be me, to make art that I love and that might be enjoyed in the future.” A teacher turned artist, ellee ven read a quote by Thoreau and had a “moment of clarity,” forcing her to start a new. “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined”. ellee ven is living the life she imagined having been placed on pop culture favorite MTV’s Real World and featured in numerous publications including Contour Magazine, Music Connection, DJ TIMES, Rolling Stone and Campus Circle. Project 11 features remixes by DJ Solange, DJ SCOTTY BOY, Chris Brophy, Dave Gadbois, DJ Onirika, DJ Swamp, Trypsin, DJ Wady, Planet Angel & DJ Rio.
