Description: Five Star Iris is a four piece Atlanta based Rock band creating music of enduring substance. Influences include U2 and Collective Soul. The band�s touring schedule consists of both electric and acoustic shows.

Biography: Based in Atlanta, Georgia the members of this rock band pride themselves on their ability to create music with enduring substance. Therefore, it is no surprise that 5SI’s songs and live shows are winning over fans and radio program directors worldwide. The song Let It All Out from their forthcoming album won the prestigious 2005 United Kingdom Songwriting Contest. The band enjoyed commercial airplay in multiple radio formats in more than 40 markets in the U.S. in 2004/2005 and has supported platinum acts such as Switchfoot, Fuel, Collective Soul and Dishwalla. 5SI was invited twice in late 2004 to entertain U.S. servicemen and women overseas and recently joined several platinum acts to entertain music fans aboard the 2006 Rockboat on Carnival Cruise Lines. The band has already been invited and confirmed to perform on the 2007 Rockboat.
5SI’s extensive live touring experience has yielded a high energy electric rock show as well as an acoustic show that has been described as “magical”. The band’s ability to connect with crowds in small bars or large arenas has contributed to their rapidly growing fanbase. With a work ethic bordering on obsessive and a "never say die" DIY mentality, 5SI has accomplished a great deal on their own in a very short time. The band will be heading into the studio in early April with legendary producer Sylvia Massy-Shivy (Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, REM) in Northern California to finish their much-anticipated full length record. The new release will include songs co-written with Collective Soul's Ed Roland and is scheduled to be released in early summer of 2006. FIVE STAR IRIS TO PLAY JANUARY 2007 ROCKBOAT
Weed, CA - March 8, 2006 Five Star Iris will be heading into the studio with producer Sylvia Massy-Shivy (Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Johnny Cash)to finish their much anticipated and first, full-length album. The band will head to scenic Weed, CA at the end of March for tracking at Radio Star Studios. The record is currently scheduled to be mixed there as well in early May. "We are thrilled to be working with such an accomplished producer/engineer as Sylvia. It is certainly validating to have someone of her caliber taking this much interest in the band," says Alan Schaefer the band's frontman and songwriter. The new release will be available in Summer 2006.
Boston, GA - March 8, 2006 The ISC announced recently that Five Star Iris' song "Is There Something I Can Do" has been named as a semi-finalist in the pop category of the prestigious songwriting competition. The annual contest had over 15,000 entries in 2006.
