When Pilgrim Speakeasy’s fingers were crushed under the weight of a 20 lb sledge hammer, at the tender age of 14, the future VIRTUOSITY of his present music seemed to be in question. Thankfully the bones have now again fused, reforming in the shapes of sychedelic exuberance.

A disciplined ARTISTIC dedication in the solitary Scottish wilderness was conversely complemented with 10 years of Metropolitan perspective /hustle .In London his style developed into a crossroads of ROOTSY ROCK , PURE FUNK, with layered vocal melodies expressing and reflecting a POETIC, SOCIAL/PHILOSOPHICAL and often HUMEROUS disposition

The CONTENT cannot be overlooked; in fact Pilgrim Speakeasy’s music is bursting at the seams with ECLECTISISM and the expression of opinion that has been the natural formation of feeling two sides of our physical reality, the URBAN and the NATURAL WORLD.

There is a refreshing lack of artificiality about these sounds .After 10 years of gigging around the U.K it became clear as scenes changed and various styles came and went that in terms of style Pilgrim Speakeasy was on his own! Leaving behind his band The Playthings in London Pilgrim Speakeasy now has lived in many countries, currently he is producing ALL of the sounds in his sonic world, somewhere in Northern Finland.

Pilgrim Speakeasy is a songwriter, performer, recording maestro /producer, multi-instrumentalist, pagan fundamentalist, poetical renegade and social hand grenade.
